German designed and built, the Mobotix range of IP camera’s offer a totally new solution to networked camera’s.

The Mobotix is based around an Intel chip running a Linux operating system with 128 MB of memory and up to 2 mega-pixel cameras’. These can be a combination of lenses e.g. TDN, telephoto, wide angle etc. No moving parts with digital zoom gives a mean time between failures of over 5 years.

The camera does all the processing. It’s programmed with what you wish it to record; motion via camera, motion via internal PIR, sound, temperature, illumination level, external trigger i.e. switch, push button, pressure mat, IR remote etc.

Once it decides that it should record the event, it records to a FTP folder or Windows shared folder. This eliminates constant network traffic (bandwidth) being used by other camera’s that require a network video recorder/server, which processes the data and decides what to keep. It also controls the folder, managing size and length of time the clips are stored for.
