Point of Sale Solutions/Text Insertion
What is text insertion?
Text insertion is the recording of text from your POS system onto a Digital Camera Recording Device, which then saves the text into a database and integrates the text into the video footage.

This gives the operator the ability to search on text data and retrieve video footage. It also means the text can be super-imposed over or removed from the video footage after the footage has been recorded.

Examples of text usage:

  • In a bar situation you may wish to look at a specific transaction during a busy night. You can enter the transaction number and retrieve the footage for that transaction only.
  • In a fast food outlet you may give discounts to the Police. You want to see if the discount is given to people other than the police, so, you enter in the word police to the search engine, set the time frame for the last 24 hours, and pull up the video showing who is receiving the Police discount.
  • In a service station you may have a drive-off. The pump text data with the video footage shows the fuel going into the vehicle and the fact it was not paid for.
  • In a retail store you notice a marked increase in no-sales from 1 till last Tuesday. You select the till, enter in the no sale text, enter in the date and time for last Tuesday and pull up the video footage for that till.
  • You find a staff member removing cash from a till in your restaurant and their explanation does not ring true. You enter in their name/clerk ID and view their transactions for the shift. Their explanation proves to be false, so, you search their transactions for the previous week and find other anomalies.
